At the beginning of the week, we traveled to Mbengwi, the village that our CEO, Roland, grew up in.

I quickly found out, Mbengwi is Mbeautiful.

There was even a Jumanji plant that I almost ate me.

The first night, we attended the ceremony to crown…

I wonder where Mbengwi is - all of these pictures and titles like Fon and Kingmaker are very similar to what goes on in my father’s village of Bali.  Are these Bali people?

“The carcasses of elephants slaughtered by poachers are seen in Boubou Ndjida National Park in February.”

Apparently, high demand for ivory in China has led to record deaths of elephants in Cameroon:

The killing began in early January and has continued for months.

It has left more than 200 elephants dead — possibly as many as 450 — and wiped out more than half of the elephant population of the Bouba N’Djida National Park in northeastern Cameroon, a poor country in western central Africa.

How horrible.  Thanks to Bonni Brodsky for the link.
